Open Microsoft PowerPoint by clicking on Start
/ Programs / Microsoft PowerPoint.
You will see the following window.

Click on Blank presentation / OK
(Note: There is another choice. You can also choose "Design
Template" to have a background pattern before you start typing
text.)
You will see the following window.

You can choose any of them as a layout for your title slide.
It is a good suggestion that you choose the first layout as
a title slide.
If you choose the last blank paper, you need to use the following
set of drawing tools to design your own title slide.
Click
and type in your
presentation title. (You can re-size it and move the object.)
The same method applies to typing the subtitle of your presentation
under the main presentation title.

The following is a view toolbar for slides
Slide Show - Preview the
presentation (Note: To end the show, move the
mouse and look for the semitransparent box in the corner. It
will have a triangle in it. Click it, and select End
Show from the pop up menu.)
Slide Sorter View
- View a thumbnail of all of the slides at once.
Slide View - View one slide
at a time
Outline View - View only
the text on the slides in outline format
Normal View - The view that
shows up as a default. It has the outline on the left, the slide
view on the right, and notes on the bottom.

Click on the pull down menu Format / Apply Design
Template and choose one of the templates.

Click on the pull down menu Insert / New Slide
to create a new slide.

Click on the pull down menu View / Master / Slide
Master.
You will see the following window. (Note that the background
may be different depending on the design template you're using.)

Change size for (#) in Number Area.

Click after (footer) and type "Prepared
by <your own name>".

You can put any symbol in Date Area. For example, I will put
on
that area.

Click on
However, the slide number does not show. You click on the pull down
menu View / Header and Footer.
You will see the following window.

Click on Slide number / Apply to All.

Click on the pull down menu Slide Show / Custom
Animation.
You will see the following window. (The exact text and objects
may be different.)
Click on Text 2 / Effects / Fly / From Left
or From Top / Preview /OK
Note: If you want a similar effect on each page, like the title flying
in, then you need to apply Custom Animation to the master slide.
