ASCII

Any time you press a key on the keyboard, it is saved in memory as 8 bits of 0's and 1's.  The more popular code used is called ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) pronounced As-key.  There are tables which show the equivalent of each character in binary.  To save space, the binary is converted into Hexadecimal and decimal

Problem:    page 116. No. 34.  Decode the following:    1001001 0100000 1001100 1001111 1010110 1000101 0100000 1011001 1001111 1010101 0101110
Solution:    Converting the Binary code to Hexadecimal yields 49 20 4C 4F 56 45 20 59 4F 55 2E.  Using Fig. 2.41 on page 110, this yields I LOVE YOU.
