Computer Organization

Textbook:

STRUCTURED COMPUTER ORGANIZATION by Andrew S. Tanenbaum, Fifth Edition, 2004

Prerequisite:

COSI 240 AND COSI 310 or Permission of the Instructor

Course Objective:

This course includes processor, memory I/O devices, digital logic level, micro programming, conventional machine level, and introduces computer architecture. Knowledge of assembly language is very useful but not essential.

Credit:

Three Semester Hours.

Class Meetings and Grading:

This class will meet from 9:05 AM to 10:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Gibson-Orgill Hall Room 103. There will be a 3 tests, last on the day of the final, which will be on WEDNESSDAY, DECEMBER 3 FROM 8:00 TO 9:50.
