Word Processing consists of five tasks. They are:
1. Creating. Start with a new blank page.
The next letter you type will be depicted by the cursor. There are
three things to remember.
a. when you come to the end of a line do not press
enter. Just continue typing. The sentence will automatically
continue on the next line. You never have to worry about the right
side. This property is called word wrap.
b. If you have more than one page, you will
automatica;lly scroll to the next page.
c. Corrections are very easy to make.
2. Editing. You can correct any mistake that you might have made. Any misspelt words will be underlined with a wavy red line. Any other grammatical errors will be underlined with a wavy green line. Clicking ABC will enable you to choose the correct spelling or grammer.
3. Formatting. You want your
document to look nice. Some of the things that you can do are:
a. Centering (both vertical and horizontal)
b. You can xet margins to any required dimension.
c. You can tabulate and indent beginnings of paragraphs
d. You can justify margins, either left, center,
right, or full.
e. You can space the lines
f. You can make parts of your text boldface, italic,
or underlined.
g. You can select various fonts and sizes.
4. Storing Note that "Save As" is saving a new document. You have to specify a name. "Save" means replacing the existing the new document with a new one. The old one is lost. Save even uncompleted documents to preent losing everything in case of apower failure or any other catastrophe.
5. Rereiving is opening the saved document.
6. Printing is printing on paper.
Note: Backspace deletes backwards, Delete deletes forwards, the arrows make the cursor glide over the document without erasing.
You can move (cut and paste), copy (co[py and paste) or delete (cut) after highlighting a letter, a word, a sentence, a paragraph, a page, or any number or parts of.
