 United States geological information

Geology is the study of the planet Earth - its dynamics, composition, structure, and history.  It also includes the study of the chemical and physical properties of earth and other solar system bodies, including our moon.

Earth has abundant natural resources.

The renewable resources are earth and soil.  The non renewable resources include coal, gas, and petroleum.  All these resources are found in the outer layer of the Earth called the Crust, a thin shell 4.8 km to 48 km (3 to 30 miles) thick.  It is composed of minerals and rocks.

In geology, we study minerals and rocks, structure of the earth Isostasy and Diastrophism, Geological Time, and the Surface Processes.  I have divided this study into 10 topics.  Click below for the required topic.
